The Tarantula Dance Group was founded in 2004 by four independent artists, graduates of the Academy for Music and Dance in Jerusalem.
The group performs at dance events and festivals.
For the last four years the group is producing an annual dance event called ZAZA, which combines original dance pieces composed by group members as well as by guest choreographers. The events are held at various venues across the city such as the Chan Theatre, the Gerard Bechar Center, the Lab and Beit Shmuel. The events have been partially supported by the Jerusalem Foundation and Mifal Hapais.

Tarantula is an all women group that combines both the secular and religious orientations of its various group members. Tarantula's dance style is influenced by members' common background in the study of movement and movement notation. The style is characterized by a clean and meticulous approach that origins from and emphasizes the basic movements of the human body in everyday life, in order to create a personal statement. Tarantula's art is strongly influenced by the complexity and variety of Jerusalem's people.
Tarantula creates contemporary Israeli dances that draw both on personal beliefs as well as consists a statement regarding the everyday life in Israel in general and in Jerusalem in particular.
